Baseball Program
The WSA baseball program is a recreational baseball program for kids ranging from pre-kindergarten through 9th grade. We start off the youngest age group by introducing them to Pre-K and T-Ball programs. The older kids in 1st grade through 8th will participate in the other various divisions of the Baseball program. Our goal for all players is to learn all aspects of the game respectable to their age/grade division, advancing their skills, knowledge and understanding of rules of as they move up. Registrations are held in Feburary as part of our combined Spring Sports sign-up. For more specific information about each division refer to the links below. The WSA Baseball program is split up into the below divisions:- Pre-K and T-Ball (4 years old and Kindergarten)
- Atoms (1st, 2nd, & 3rd grade boys)
- Bantams (4th & 5th grade boys)
- Midget (6th & 7th grade boys)
- Juvenile (8th & 9th grade boys)
Eligibility is based off of child's current
age/grade at registration time
Divisions with less than 4 teams will have to participate in the District 19 Association which will require traveling to towns such as Tilden, St. Libory, New Athens, Marissa, Freeburg, Valmeyer, Smithton
At least 1 coach from each District 19 team will be required to attend District 19s annual rules meeting, held in March.
Practice
Practice for all divisions starts the first weekend of April. Teams will be assigned practice times and fields. This information will be provided to the coaches and the coaches are expected to communicate this to their players/parents.The link below shows the practice field location and the time reserved by coaches name.
